Personal Life Coaching
What It Is Personal Life Coaching is a process in which a person, acting in the role of a guide or mentor, coaches another individual to create a happier, more satisfying life. It is a partnership where both parties work together to ensure the client reaches his or her goals. Coaching addresses the whole person and examines all aspects of life. The coaching approach is action-oriented with a focus on the present and the future. Through the coach's expertise, clients are supported, motivated and encouraged to evaluate their priorities and take action to live the life they want. What I Offer In my coaching practice, I work with people who wish to change their lives for the better. Many of my clients are going through life transitions, have decided to take charge of their health, or want to live a more balance life. Life Coaching is a partnership. Together, we set meaningful goals and time frames. I provide guidance and ongoing support through regularly scheduled sessions to help you reach your goals. The Process The coaching process begins with a two hour initial planning session. This session is usually conducted in person, and during this time we will discuss your goals and desires. We will talk about values and priorities, examine your life as it is now, what may need to change, and how to make those changes happen successfully. We will develop a basic plan for you to follow to create the life you want. The purpose of the initial session is for you to leave with a clear idea of what you must do to reach your goals. Things will get started right away, because you will leave the session with a detailed strategy to work on during the first week. Follow-up sessions are held on a weekly basis. These appointments are on the phone and last about 30 minutes each. During these sessions we review the previous week's goals and the progress made toward achieving them. We will discuss techniques that work and don't work. We will also discuss any changes that may be appropriate in the initial plan, adjust goals if needed, and set up new tasks for the coming week. Forms and worksheets may be used for this purpose. Getting Started I ask my clients to commit to a three month coaching relationship. Meaningful change occurs over time. It is necessary to establish patterns, learn and make adjustments that will ultimately lead to success. At the end of this initial time frame, we will evaluate progress made and determine the appropriate next steps. To get started, or if you want more information, call me or send me an email.
